Base Island is the personal brand of designer Logan Greenlee.

Logan is a multidisciplinary designer with backgrounds in engineering and fine art. He specializes in printmaking, jewelry design, fashion design, and product design.

He spent his childhood moving between Germany and the United States. As a teenager he lived on Oahu where he attended the Hawaii Technology Academy. He went on to study at the prestigious Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China before completing his bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from Purdue University.

Logan now operates a small design studio in North Carolina. He is still an avid traveler and also works as an engineer designing products and processes for companies around the world.

Base Island is dedicated to promoting personal growth through travel and self-expression.

True self expression means communicating where we have been and where we hope to go.

Base Island was created by designer Logan Greenlee in his North Carolina studio. The brand was founded on his idea that travel and cultural awareness are the key to establishing healthy diverse communities. He used this ideology to design products that promoted global travel and self-expression for travelers.

His inaugural Base Island collection featured a set of handmade postcards that were printed using specialized wood blocks. Each print was made using four blocks, one for each color of ink. This proprietary printing process inspired the colored stripes and the print error motif used throughout his designs.

Logan’s later collections expanded the brand portfolio to include jewelry, apparel, and other lifestyle products. All of his designs are personally crafted in his studio using the highest quality materials. Each product is hand made in limited quantities and only available for a short period of time.
